Less material, waste and emissions: Goossens and TRIBOO present a circular system of tables in FENIX®
In Netherlands, the furniture store Goossens and TRIBOO, that produces furnishings from waste materials, launch a system of circular tables with FENIX tops for the Dutch and Belgian markets.
These tables represent a first step towards the joint creation of circular furniture, using less materials, reducing CO2 emissions and waste.
The support of the top is made of Greengridz: a construction panel for circular furniture, lightweight with a thickness of 30 mm and extremely durable, which uses about 70% less material and emits 60% less CO2 compared to chipboard, plywood or MDF.

FENIX’s Bloom technology, based on lignin, reduces by 50% the amount of phenol in the resin of the material’s core. Lignin is a waste of production in the wood industry and is the second most abundant natural polymer in the world after cellulose. Its use in thermosetting resins is innovative.
The aesthetic durability also contributes to the sustainability of the tables, as Goossens reiterates: “The ultra-matt surface of FENIX does not leave fingerprints, and its proprietary technology makes the tabletop long-lasting. Even after years, the table can look as good as new.”
Furthermore, an advantage of the circularity of the tables is that at the end of their life cycle, the tops can be recycled through a pyrolysis process, transforming into activated carbon, which is used to make filters for water and air.
In eight colours – FENIX Nero Ingo, Grigio Aragona, Grigio Londra, Castoro Ottawa, Beige Arizona, Bianco Kos and Blu Fes – with different shapes, from rectangular to oval to organic silhouette, the tables are available in Netherlands and Belgium.
