FENIX and the Carbon Footprint
All the carbon emissions released into the atmosphere during the life cycle of FENIX materials have been quantified.
Besides actively working on reducing its carbon footprint, FENIX compensates hard-to-abate emissions generated through its whole life cycle through carbon offsetting projects. The selected carbon-captured projects are waste-to-energy facilities in which the methane gas released from the landfills is used to generate electricity.
FENIX’s carbon footprint is certified by an independent third party and emissions data are also published on FENIX’s Environmental Product Declarations.
The FENIX® Carbon Footprint Methodology Report, a Carbon Offsetting Strategy White Paper and the Offsets Supplier Tracking Declaration are available for download on fenixforinteriors.info.

DO MORE WITH LESS
Reducing FENIX’s carbon footprint is a key component of our sustainability policy. We are convinced that improving our environmental footprint is not only the right thing to do, but it is also essential to the continuity of the brand.
The road to reducing the carbon footprint starts with the replacement of the most impactful inputs and the improvement of our products and processes efficiency. Moreover, we focus on FENIX’s durability and composition. We believe in “do more with less”, guaranteeing the quality of our products while using less resources.
As part of and based on our certified LCA management system, we have published EPDs (Environmental Product Declaration) for the whole range of FENIX products. An EPD is a document which transparently communicates the environmental impact of a product over its lifetime, calculated using the LCA method. Our LCA management system (EPD process) is certified by an accredited third party as of November 2022. The certification covers the entire process of an EPD development and publication.
FENIX single product EPDs are regularly updated, please check the most recent version on fenixforinteriors.info.
FENIX Certifications
FENIX is also certified according to the following certification schemes:
Nordic Swan Ecolabel (FENIX NTM) – an environmental labelling scheme certifying that a product or service complies with the requirements for the label, i.e. resource efficiency, reduced climate impact, circular economy, conservation of biodiversity, and health.
Greenguard Gold – indoor-use product certification meeting strict chemical emissions limits and contributing to safer, healthier air.
M1 – Emission Class for Building Material Certification according to the Building Information Foundation RTS – it promotes the development and use of low-emitting building materials, fixed furniture, and office furniture.
FENIX is also available upon request with FSC® (License Code FSC-C115920) and PEFC (License Code PEFC COC-004502) certifications.
FSC® is a voluntary certification promoted by the Forest Stewardship Council® that ensures that products come from responsibly managed forests.
Similarly, PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) ensures that paper or wood products come from sustainably managed forests.
