DOM PÉRIGNON TABLE by Silverlining Furniture with Kravitz Design

DOM PÉRIGNON TABLE by Silverlining Furniture with Kravitz Design

FENIX® Nero Ingo and satin brushed brass feature Silverlining’s table designed by Kravitz Design for Dom Pérignon.

Based in North Wales, the furniture studio and workshop company Silverlining consists of 70 professionals that work with a variety of fine materials – from rare woods and leathers to technologically-advanced solutions – blending old and new techniques of craftsmanship. When the French Maison Dom Pérignon commissioned them a table for its worldwide renowned champagne, Silverlining worked together with Kravitz Design to create an extraordinary piece of furniture.

The world-famous r&b musician Lenny Kravitzcreative director of Dom Pérignon since 2018 – founded his eponymous design studio twenty years ago. Collaborating with Silverlining, Kravitz Design thought of an elegantly crafted opening table that reveals a storage for champagne flutes and bottles. Made of FENIX Nero Ingo, the rounded tabletop is combined with the lavish aesthetics of brushed brass edges and marine leather. 41cm-high, the closed table has a 153cm-diameter and 182cm-diameter once open.

Silverlining talks about the collaboration with Dom Pérignon and Kravitz Design, showing the table’s particular features and the reasons behind the choice of FENIX.

How has the collaboration with Dom Pérignon evolved?

Lenny Kravitz, as creative director of Dom Pérignon, invited us to craft the table he designed with his team. Meetings with Dom Perignon and LVMH teams followed in both London and Paris. Sometimes, when large teams are involved, the process of bringing the piece to life can be difficult. But in the case of this champagne table, everybody was passionate about and helpful in realising the concept.

It sounds like your manufactures and Kravitz designers turned out into a great match.

Absolutely, our team spent time with Lenny in London and Milan, bringing their concept to life. The resulting launch event in Milan was quite an experience!

What was the concept for the champagne table?

The brief for the table was that it would be the centrepiece of the party and needed to cope with that – considering both its durability and functionality. The resulting piece is a tour de force of original design and modern craftsmanship.

So, which are the defining features and functions of this product?

The table shows a built-in clear acrylic champagne bucket at its centre, whilst the split opening top in FENIX reveals elegantly designed storage for twelve champagne flutes and ten Dom Pérignon bottles. Both custom coasters and interior surfaces are inlaid with marine-grade leather, tested to be used in harsh exterior marine environment. The tabletop is made with FENIX Nero Ingo and satin brushed brass, that enhances the matt material and matches with the coasters.

What do you most appreciate of FENIX innovative materials?

FENIX is an extraordinary material loved by our team and our clients alike. It’s perfect for elegant, contemporary pieces that combine beautiful aesthetics with superior functionality. The fact that the material has a closed surface preventing water to penetrate and it gives the possibility of thermal reparability, makes it the perfect surface for pieces used for hosting and entertaining.
